Mvstermind

The market of hip hop can be oversaturated with every genre, category and all types of rappers. Everyone in the industry must have the “it factor;” an image, a gimmick so to speak, a distinguishing appeal that puts their music and voice to the forefront of "Hot 97" and beyond. For award winning Indie Music Revolutionary Mvstermind, the result is achieved with a very distinctive formula. All of his equations, theories and algorithms on creating EPIC music are innately derived, not from studies of big whig hype machines, but literally from his core; his musical genius, soul and faith.

After building on the tremendous success of his single ‘Mali Moolah’, the video for which was featured on BET Jams and Fuse FM, St. Louis native Mvstermind adds clout to the Complex nod as a rising musician to watch with his highly anticipated release Cusp EP. After a three year hiatus from his previous project A.D.D. (Artistically Day Dreaming), Mvstermind perfects his art on Cusp EP by delivering music embedded with a spirituality and consciousness that reflect his integrity as a young black millennial navigating the music world.

Listen to CUSP EP
He’s commanded the crowds, sharing stages with Chance The Rapper, Travis Scott, Oddisee, Ab-Soul, G-Eazy, and attended festival such as A3C, SXSW, Brooklyn's Beastie Boy Tribute show, MCA Day and much more. A modern day renaissance man, Mvstermind dons the titles of producer, rapper and sound engineer with much humility. Mvstermind’s musical sound is hard to categorize, fusing elements of soul, electronica, hip hop, trap and much more to create his very unique sound. With the whole city of St. Louis behind him after winning “Artist of the Year” at the St. Louis Underground Music Awards January 2017, the future is limitless for Mvstermind as he transforms from a regional household name to national in 2017.

20k Miles oF INDEPENDENT TOURING

MME has never had a manager nor a tour manager, just a collective of hard working artist determined to get to a destination, so they took matters in their own hands. MME's nation trekking helped them build a strong and support fan base, that in return finically backed the team during their travels.

While out in New Mexico, MME received a phone call about a show opportunity in Los Angeles, although low on funds, they changed gps routes, and started a go-fund me rising and extra $700 for gas an travel fees. The "I think you can call this a tour" Tour set the bar high for MME, with funds raised by supporters, and the money accumulated on the tour MME managed to break even by six dollars, huge feat for independent bands.

BLACK MATTER LIVES TOUR

This tour picked back where the collective previously left.  With the climate in Saint Louis and the nation being thick after the death of Mike Brown, MME decided that they would name the their upcoming tour "Black Matter Lives Tour" Stating that, black lives matter, and even with all of the killings going on, we will continue to live strong and boldly, forever, as art, as memories, as black matter in the universe would. Smart move on MME's part, they used the platform to spread awareness about social issues. Bringing a whole new meaning to the musicians phrase "Hands Up", MME would have the entire venue paying tribute to those who have fallen unjustly before us.  The platform was in full effect, even a venue in Lawrence Kansas City had "Black Matter Live tour" posted outside in bright lights. With the previous tour, MME  had built up a large fan base in Denver, so large that the city rallied together and requested MME as the supporting act at for nationally Known rapper Curren$y. With over 600 fans jam packed in the Cervantes Masterpiece Ball room, the venue was sold out.

Meditate Meditate Elevate Studios

With Mvstermind receiving a notice that the 2,000 dollars that he garnered up selling his music would not be enough in order for him to Enroll in his Junior Year at Loyola University, he didn't fret...or panic, he took that money and bought his first studio set up. Fast forward five years later and that set up has been transformed as music and money was made. It was no surprise when The self taught musician taught himself how to mix and master, just as he taught himself how to produce. Fast forward years later and "Meditate Meditate Elevate Studios" has it's hands in major projects through the city and even nationally. Mvstermind's work is known for his creativity with composing compositions. As he feels that "having the beat and lyrics completed are at times less than 50% of the song", he works diligently to present and craft ideas as a tangible art experience, taking the terms Producer to it's proper level, even if he didn't produce the actual music you can hear Mvstermind creative signature. Meditate Mediate Elevate Studio, has already left "Mvstermind's" creative signature in the music industry and has goals of taking to the top.

Mvstermind's roots in the music started in Saint Louis. For the past 6 years he's been working diligently with his team MME to stamp a flag to bring back focus on the Saint Louis music scene nationally and show the many talents that Missouri has to offer. Not only is MME undeviating with their craft, they also pride themselves on pursuing goals and dreams no matter how much it may differs from societies norms. MME is seconds away from becoming house hold "initials". Mvstermind and his team has paid their dues, and aligned themselves with some of the biggest influences in Saint Louis, gaining national notoriety. The collective's diverse style has championed the smallest of venues, to the largest festivals across town.

On October 21st Mvstermind took the keys to STL Hip HOP by having the first hip hop show at Delmar Hall

The “cusp” — like just about every theme that arises in Austin’s work — is multifaceted, containing layers of meaning which intertwine and play off one another to create a dense conceptual web. He says that in terms of his musical career, “this is the actual cusp. We’re right here on the brink of something major.” And it’s hard to disagree with him, given his steadily increasing notoriety both here in St. Louis and around the nation. -Nick Horn: Riverfront Times

Mali Moolah PUBLIC PREMIER

Mvstermind Teamed up with local guerrilla marketing Team "Cruz Control" to public premier "Mali Moolah" The two came up with the idea to create an old School "Safe" symbolizing the worth that Mvstermind talks about in his song. The two built the safe from scratch and strategically documented the process, giving the viewers on social media anticipation, they didn't know what was being built. Once they assembled the safe, which included a projector and TV Screen, together they took it to two locations premiering it the public. The supporters took to the movement getting #MALIMOOLAH to trend in Saint Louis, the mission was accomplished. Using the same creativity that brought the song to life, Mvstermind and Cruz Control single handedly brought the video to the attention of Saint Louis, ricocheting nationally.

In the account of this show Mvstermind state. "If they ever Say I sold out, Just known what I mean" and with Mvstermind coming of his mention in Complex Magazine, The was exactly that, to sell out. With limited resources at hand and time, Mvstermind creatively used what he have to get it done. Mvstermind teamed up with visual artist Gregory Davis and created a poster campaign instead of in your face detailed advertisement. The goal was to intrigued the public instead of bombarding people with information, creating a slight shift to the Saint Louis Culture, people were actively searching to get more information,  attention was caught and the city was was intrigued. The info less posters were strategically hung up around key parts of Saint Louis, and the results showed. The Demo was sold out on 2/26

STUDY BREAKS & BEATS

Study Breaks & Beats is a program founded by Mvstermind, to teach the youth how to apply the fundamentals of creating music as applicable tactics in life's problem solving. As “Study Breaks & Beats” reaches other campuses and centers in the near future, Mvstermind has plans of employing other local producing/recording artists. This in essence serves as a means of providing a career path and sustainable income while keeping the fellow musician employed. A major perk of the future positions to be offered for artists, is that they can gain experience teaching and mentoring, and actually utilize and apply their skills, instead of starting off post college or mid career in a job that doesn't relate to their field of interest. Study Breaks & Beats puts the musician and producer right where they belong!
